dc.description.abstract This paper deals with the mathematical model which involves nonlinear dynamics of free surface and contact boundary in a film–substrate system. The model is used for further investigation of the role played by the Taylor-type instability in processes of liquid-phase mass transfer in a film–substrate system. It has been proved that the development of the Taylor-type instability may result in efficient mass transfer. The results of the process depends on exposure parameters, film thickness, and the initial condition of the surface. © 2013 by Begell House, Inc. en
