Abstract:
Using furfuryl alcohol, tetrabutyltitanate and nonionic surfactant have been prepared bulk composite organic-inorganic polymer that after calcination at 970 °C yielded glassy carbon matrix with uniformly distributed anatase nanoparticles in. Size of anatase particles measured by transmission electron microscopy, small angle X-ray scattering and wide angle X-ray scattering appear as 5-15, 7.7 and 5.9 nm respectively. Carbon to anatase mass ratio obtained is 1:1. Heating in air to 1000 °C converts anatase to rutile form. Benzene absorption is of 2.2 g per 100 g of composite material under 62% saturated benzene vapour that allow to estimate specific surface area as 56 m 2/g.
