dc.description.abstract Results are presented from the development and testing of a new design of shears for cutting rolled shapes of circular cross section and thick-walled tubes. The shears employ a mechanical cutting scheme based on translational motion of the cut portions of the workpiece in two directions as they also rotate. All of the innovations incorporated into the shears have been awarded Russian patents. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York. en]
