Abstract:
In this paper, we present the results of our investigations on the lasing in dye doped chiral liquid crystals with structural defects. The introduction of structural defects (TiO 2 microbeads) into cholesterics results in multimode laser generation and increasing the threshold energy. In the same time, utilization of multilayers in a FLC cell leads to a tremendous reduction of threshold energy. © 2007 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
